Description: Certain payroll deductions are considered voluntary and are available to be updated via Employee Self-Service. Follow this quick guide to update your voluntary deductions that are available in Employee Self-Service.

Step by Step Guide To Start or Update a Voluntary Payroll Deduction

Step 1 Log in to https://mainestreet.maine.edu, (use Internet Explorer for best results) and click Employee Self-Service > Pay > Voluntary Deductions. You will see a list of your current voluntary deductions available in self-service.
Step 2

  • To update an existing deduction click Edit next to the appropriate deduction that you would like to edit.
  • To set up a new deduction, click Add Deduction.

Step 3 Click magnifying glass next to Type of Deduction and select deduction from the list.

403b Roth After Tax403b Roth retirement plan voluntary contributions; deductions are after-tax

  1. Select whether Deduction is a Flat Amount or Percent of Total Gross
  2. Enter the Amount or Percent to be deducted per pay period.
  3. Take deduction until I reach this Goal Amount: enter goal if applicable
  4. Enter Deduction Start Date
  5. Enter Deduction Stop Date
  6. Click Submit

Step 2
To stop an existing deduction, click Edit next to the appropriate deduction that you would like to stop.

  1. Enter Deduction Stop Date
  2. Click Submit
